Chloride analysis is the sampling and testing for the presence of chloride ions caused by the contamination process. These assessments are extremely important because they help to map the levels of contamination throughout a property and give stakeholders a realistic idea of secondary/contamination damages after a fire. As soon as AREPA can arrive to a loss, our team of project managers conduct a detailed inspection of the site and chemical analyses are performed to determine the extent of the resultant chemical contamination. While it varies by type of equipment, typical contamination levels that require immediate action are around 6-14 µg Cl-/ cm². We respond as quickly as possible and have teams available 24/7. The data collected during these initial assessments serves as the foundation for many of the recovery and risk assessment activities.
