Gomarus comprehensive school

One Sunday, just before the start of the new school year, a fire broke out on the roof above the technical area at the Gomarus Scholengemeenschap. As the lifts open in case of fire, the staff room and the central area below were badly damaged. The fire also caused a lot of smoke and soot damage throughout the school building. Although the fire brigade was quickly at the scene, the damage was considerable. To minimise delays for the new school year, the help of Dolmans Calamity Services was called in through the damage expert. Coenraad Steenstra, Head of Facility Services at Gomarus Scholengemeenschap, tells how he experienced our services.

"The fire brigade, damage assessors and other necessary agencies were on site soon after the fire and did a good job of assessing the situation. Through the insurance company, Dolmans Calamiteiten Diensten was called in. The Tuesday after the fire, they were on site with a large team. Jeroen van Weegberg, the project manager from Dolmans, had everything under control immediately. We were in contact several times a day in which he gave updates on the progress and expectations for that day. So this communication was excellent, so we did not have to worry about the process."

From removing and refitting ceiling tiles to thoroughly cleaning the contaminated areas. Due to the damage, on the advice of the experts, the school remained closed for a week longer, but thanks to your hard work, we were fortunately able to restart classes quickly. I greatly admire what you have accomplished in a short time. The way Jeroen managed his team and the communication to both his team and us was always clear and transparent."
